On Friday, May 23, Randall and I took our K-Z Jag2 23 ft. camper to the Fort Morgan RV Park for the Memorial Day weekend. This is a lovely little RV park located at the 10 mile marker off Fort Morgan Rd. Our camp site was located right on the bay and was just so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting right outside our camper and enjoying the beauty that God has given us.
After setting up on Friday around lunch, we pretty much just took it easy around the campgrounds. Late in the afternnoon, while looking out at the water, I saw about 15 to 20 dolphins making their way down the bay. They were a delight to watch. We also had many seagulls and pelicans right at our campsite. Randall grilled us some delicious ribs for dinner. Later in the afternoon, we had a downpour. Because of this, we pretty much stayed in the camper the rest of the night.
Saturday, we started our morning out with a traditional "Hazel's" breakfast. From Hazel's we went to the Tanger outlet, then on to some of the local RV sales to scope out what we might like in the future. Our plan at this point in our lives is to retire as soon as possible and then to travel as much as possible. All in God's time!! Saturday night, steaks were grilled out. Another wonderful dinner! Randall and I fished that night on the lighted pier at the campgrounds. Randall caught a few "little ones." (Side note: During the night, "Camp" began screaming with pain when he would turn a certain way. On Friday, he had been tied up, and when the first dog came past our campsite, he took off "ninety to nothing" after him and was jerked back very abruptly by the leash. We think this is when he was injured. He screamed in pain off and on during our whole time there. We are now home and it is Wed. the 28th and he seems to be better, but still cries out in pain when he makes certain moves.)
Sunday morning, we played 18 holes of golf. We returned to the campgrounds around 1:00 and spent the rest of the afternoon "taking it easy." For dinner, we went just down the street to a restaurant called "Island Beach Cafe." It was really good and we will go there again. Back to the campgrounds after we ate and once again, took it easy. Randall fished off and on several times that night.
Monday morning, it was time to begin thinking about leaving. We began packing up little by little around 9:00 A.M. We finally headed home around 12:30. We had a great time and we look forward to coming back to this same campsite next month for 9 days.
